Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. The classes are conducted on a soft surface in a dojo so no shoes are allowed. Bring along a towel and water. All weights, punching bags and other equipment are provided. Boxing gloves can be borrowed.

Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. The classes are conducted on either grass or undercover areas so wear runners. Bring along a yoga mat, sports towel and water. All weights and other equipment are provided.

Sessions go for 45 minutes. Warm ups and cool downs are maximised so there is more time to workout!

Boxing sessions take place at AKKA Martial Arts in Osborne Park. There is a carpark at the front of the building. There is plenty of street parking for the outdoor sessions. Please note, there are ticketed parking areas around Holyrood Park.

Unlike traditional saunas that heat the air, infrared saunas use infrared light to directly warm your body. This can provide a variety of health benefits.

Most healthy adults can safely use an infrared sauna. However, it’s important to consult with your doctor before using one if you have any health concerns, such as heart disease, high blood pressure, or are pregnant.

Start slow – if this is the first time using an infrared sauna start on 40-45C for 15 minutes and build up to 60-65C for 30 minutes.

You can use the infrared sauna several times a week (at least twice a week is recommended), but it’s always best to listen to your body and take rest days when needed.

What should I do before, during, and after my sauna session?2024-05-26T18:49:48+08:00

Hydrate before your session by drinking plenty of water. Your time in the sauna is a great time to unwind and relax, however, listen to your body and exit the sauna if you feel uncomfortable. Hydrate again after your session to replenish fluids.

It’s best to wear minimal clothing, such as a swimsuit, in the sauna. Bring a water bottle. Bring two towels – one to sit on and one to stand on. Refrain from bringing anything electronic (phones, headphones) into the sauna. You can access the Bluetooth speaker within the sauna to listen to music or a podcast.
